Hakodate
National College of Technology (HNCT) was founded in 1962 as one of 54 similar
Government supported Colleges in Japan. It is the school of five-year system,
accepting students from junior high school.
Main object of HNCT is to educate students to become major staffs in technology
field in industry. Education in HNCT places stress on exercises such as field
studies to attain a high level of practical ability. Students are being
accepted widely in industry and in most of the cases equally qualified as
students from Universities. In addition, approximately 20 % of students enter
junior (the third grade) level of universities for further studies.
